48 Hour Competition Themes

Postby Sarah Marshall » Sun Jan 23, 2011 2:01 pm

Here we go again. Just write down your suggested themes in this thread and we will send the list to be chosen from (after culling) to the company who will be judging (and hopefully sponsoring) the competition.

I like all of those except Animal Farm. And I guess I'm ambivalent about a bad smell.

Tiredness
Dreaming
Red shift (probably not actually good)

I approve of RAAAAAAAAAAGE. If Super Meat Boy has taught me anything it's that making the player rage can still make a good game. :P
Also, judging from what won last time, "games that already exist" seems to do well.

Darkness/Line of Sight
MACROSS (or possibly Mac Ross)
You underesterate my power!
lol your son died
Illusion/Deception
Probability says no
Secret Identity
funk
Most Uses of Copyrighted Material

Other than subgeometrical, I'm guessing nonsensuously and misspoke.

Since Graph Theory will never be chosen, I suggest Knot Theory.

Ambiguity
Optical illusions
Burn (could be razor burn, screen burn, third-degree burn, sick burn...)

Jules Verne!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jules_verne
There isn't a book title on that list that wouldn't make a great game.
I also quite like Rubbish Superpowers and Ambiguity.
Animal Farm would only be good for the group that made Animal Farmville (which would be incredible).

Anyway my suggestions:
48 Hours to Save the World
Retrofuturism
Breaking the Hippocratic Oath
Failed Experiment
